GREER, S.C.—Today, United Airlines began new daily nonstop service from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) to Denver International Airport (DEN).
This is the first new route introduced by the airline at GSP in more than 15 years. Denver is United’s fifth nonstop city from GSP.
“United’s new Denver service is an ideal option for Upstate business travelers,” said Dave Edwards, GSP’s president and CEO. “Denver and the Rocky Mountains are among the most requested destinations by companies in our region. With convenient nonstop service and connecting flights to destinations like Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii and Canada we expect the route to be very popular.”
United’s flight departs GSP at 6:15 a.m. and arrives in Denver at 7:46 a.m. Flights depart Denver at 5:30 p.m. and arrive at GSP at 10:38 p.m. United’s Denver service is operated on 76-seat Embraer-175 jet aircraft.
“We are thrilled to bring additional United service to Greenville-Spartanburg and the customers of South Carolina with our new daily non-stop service to Denver,” said Steve Jaquith, United’s vice president of its Denver hub. “Offering customers new service to Denver gives them even more opportunities to connect to the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. We’re excited about connecting Greenville-Spartanburg customers to the hundreds of domestic and international destinations in United’s network.”
United’s other nonstop cities that can be reached from GSP include: Chicago (O’Hare International Airport), Houston (George Bush Intercontinental Airport), New York (Newark Liberty International Airport) and Washington (Dulles International Airport).
Year over year, United has increased its seat capacity at GSP by 15% by providing more seats, larger aircraft and additional flights to and from the airport.
In 2018, GSP saw a record 2.31 million passengers. The airport is also celebrating 19 consecutive months of increased passenger activity while introducing nonstop service to six different cities by four different airlines.
