Get to Know GSP

At Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, the health and safety of our passengers is our top priority. We are committed, as always, to providing a safe and clean airport. GSP is continuously monitoring coronavirus (COVID-19) developments and is working closely with our employees, tenants and airline partners to proactively reduce the risk of COVID-19. We are staying in contact with federal, state, and industry experts to make sure that we have the latest updates on the spread of the virus and impacts to our region.

What We’re Doing

We have increased cleaning and sanitation efforts, on top of our normal 24/7 cleaning procedures. We have added additional hand sanitizers throughout the terminal as well as extensive signage reminding travelers how to avoid the spread of germs. Social distancing markers have been placed throughout the terminal. We continue to monitor cleanliness and the availability of supplies for proper handwashing and sanitizing public areas. We have added plexiglass dividers to all counters and registers and staff will wear face masks in public areas of the terminal. We have medic and fire units on site who are trained as first responders and who can initiate appropriate medical and infectious disease protocols.

TSA has made some updates to their procedures, please click here for the full list. Officers continue to conduct thorough, standard screening for departing passengers, with no additional screening or temperature checks in place at this time.

Federal law requires wearing a mask at all times in and on the airport and failure to comply may result in removal and denial of re-entry. Refusing to wear a mask in or on the airport is a violation of federal law; individuals may be subject to penalties under federal law.

The coronavirus is a fluid situation. We are constantly reviewing our emergency plans and are prepared to initiate additional protocols as needed. Please continue to check our website and social media for updates.


Due to the nationwide decrease in demand for air travel including at GSP, we are also making changes to our parking to serve you as efficiently as possible. Valet parking services and shuttle services are temporarily suspended.

Parking is available in Economy Lot B at a rate of $7 per day. Passengers are encouraged to allow extra time to make the short walk to the terminal. Parking Garage A is also open and offers close, covered parking at a rate of $15 per day. Please note that cash will not be accepted in the Parking Garages or Economy Lot B.

Additional lots will remain available for returning passengers who need to pick up their cars. Vehicles parked in these lots will pay the rate posted when they entered the lot.

Rental car services, accessible in Garage A, remain available.

Concessions and Retail

A variety of concessions remain available both before and after the security checkpoint. Restaurants include The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, Chick-fil-A Flatwood Grill, Dunkin Donuts, and Baskin Robbins. Retails stores Hudson News, Tech on the Go, and the Upstate Marketplace as well as automated retail kiosks are available for all of your pre-flight needs.

Pre-Security (Baggage Claim):

  • Hudson News open 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
  • Dunkin Donuts & Flatwood Grill open 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. 

Post-Security (Grand Hall):

  • Hudson News, Tech on the Go & Upstate Marketplace -  Open 60 minutes prior to the first scheduled departure to the last departure.
  • Dunkin Donuts - Open 6 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. 
  • The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck - Open 10 a.m. until the last departure of the day.
  • Chick-fil-A - Open 4 a.m. until the last departure of the day. Closed Sundays.

Flight Information

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), because of how air circulates and is filtered on airplanes, most viruses and other germs do not spread easily in airplanes and the risk of infection while traveling by air is low. 

Travelers should check with their airline for the latest information and flight status updates.


Face Masks and Facial Coverings

GSP requires face masks for all passengers and visitors in the terminal and encourages passengers to follow guidelines from the Center for Disease ControlAirlines at GSP require face masks for all passengers on board all flights. Rideshare companies including Uber and Lyft may also require drivers and riders to wear face masks. We encourage travelers to check with their airline and ground transportation provider for the latest requirements.

How You Can Help

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is advising travelers to keep personal items like phones, wallets, and keys out of the constantly used bins. Instead, please secure these personal items in your carry-on bag to be screened.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. For information about handwashing, see CDC’s Handwashing website.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Allow extra space between you and the person next to you when standing in any lines for screening or a flight, while shopping or dining, or while moving through the airport.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
