GSP Unveils Website and Branding for Terminal Improvement Program

Date: July 18, 2012
Time:
Location:

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) unveiled a new website and brand for its Terminal Improvement Program (TIP) today. The brand, WINGSPAN, will be supported by the website, www.elevatingtheupstate.com, which will highlight key aspects of the Terminal Improvement Program and serve as an information hub about the program for travelers and Upstate residents.

“The Terminal Improvement Program will make GSP International Airport one of the most efficient airports of its size,” said GSP President and CEO Dave Edwards. “To maintain efficiency while the program is underway, communication is critical. Our dedicated website, our blog and our other social media platforms under the WINGSPAN brand will provide vital information about TIP, as well as educate the community about the economic impact of this program.”

The $115 million, 48-month Terminal Improvement Program will modernize the main terminal building, improve passenger flow and upgrade the facility. No local tax dollars will be used to fund any portion of the program. Skanska Moss, a joint venture between Skanska USA Building and local contractor Moss & Associates, is serving as construction manager at-risk. GSP International Airport will seek as many local subcontractors as possible to participate, continuing its commitment to economic development throughout the Upstate.

Renovation plans will take long-term sustainability into account. The terminal will remain operational throughout the process.

“We are embarking on the most substantial wave of renovations in GSP’s history,” Greenville-Spartanburg Airport Commission Chairwoman Minor Shaw said. “The Terminal Improvement Program will accomplish needed renovations to the airport while keeping the authenticity and community feel that everyone in the Upstate has all grown to love.”
